Iran federation says all statutes amendments but election rules approved by FIFA
rokna: FIFA responded to the latest amendments made to the Iran Football Federation’s statutes, the country’s football governing body said on Wednesday.
FIFA’s letter came in response to the modifications proposed by Iran in mid-July.
The Iranian federation refused to reveal all details of FIFA’s letter, however, it said the Zurich-based organization had approved major articles in the July 13 draft, though it added that some issues regarding the federation’s election rules remain unsolved.
The world football governing body has repeatedly insisted that the federations of its state members should be run as “non-governmental organizations”, which seemed to be the major source of disagreement between FIFA and Iran – as the country’s sports minister had been a constant member of the federation’s presiding board.
FIFA had also asserted the Judiciary Committee of the federation should act independently.
