Funeral of Master Farshchian in Isfahan – Details

According to Rokna, quoting the Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, on Sunday noon, a coordination meeting was held to organize the farewell ceremony for Master Farshchian’s body. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Culture as well as his nephews and family members. It was decided that after the body of Master Mahmoud Farshchian arrives in Iran, it will be directly transferred to Isfahan and there, with the presence of the public and admirers, the funeral procession will be held.

During the meeting, condolence messages from the President and the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance were conveyed to Farshchian’s family. The Ministry also expressed readiness to hold a grand funeral ceremony for the burial of this unparalleled master of Iranian art in front of Vahdat Hall.

Additionally, the Astan Quds Razavi announced its readiness to receive the body of Master Farshchian for a circumambulation (Tawaf) at the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in Mashhad, which was communicated to the family.

Farshchian’s family, while expressing their gratitude for the sincere condolences from officials, artists, and the public towards the esteemed personality of Master Farshchian, emphasized that reducing the burden on his admirers was one of his own wishes. Therefore, it was decided that the funeral procession will only be held in Isfahan. Following the funeral and burial, a memorial ceremony will be held by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Tehran to honor the lifetime artistic achievements of the late Master Farshchian.
