German Foreign Minister Raises New Allegations Against Iran at UN General Assembly
Rokna Political Desk: Germany’s Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, made allegations regarding Iran’s nuclear program, its network of proxy wars, and rejection of mediation proposals, while calling for the reinstatement of sanctions on Tehran.

The German Foreign Minister, while accusing Iran, claimed that the country has “pursued its nuclear program for years” and simultaneously emphasized that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons.
According to Rokna, citing Bild newspaper, Wadephul claimed that Iran has “established a network of proxy wars and for years has pursued a nuclear program that goes beyond any conceivable peaceful use.” He stressed that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons.
Wadephul further asserted that “there is no acceptable justification for uranium enrichment up to 60 percent. Iran has rejected all mediation proposals for years. Therefore, sanctions are now reinstated.”
Despite his criticisms, the German foreign minister stated that his country remains “ready for a new agreement with Iran and supports the continuation of diplomatic efforts.”
On other global issues, Wadephul addressed the war in Ukraine, noting that it “blatantly violates the fundamental principles of the UN Charter,” and emphasized that all members must refrain from using force against other nations, highlighting the special responsibilities of permanent Security Council members. He called for peace in Ukraine and reiterated continued support for the country.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, Wadephul condemned the actions of the Israeli regime, stating, “Gaza is hell on earth. Right now, as we speak, a human nightmare is unfolding.” He emphasized that “this war must end, prisoners must be freed, and the only solution is a two-state solution.”
