Yorkshire mum, 29, had sex with boy she met on social media seven times

A woman who had sex with a 15-year-old boy has been jailed.

Suda Epuna was 29-years-old when she first met the victim on social media and, before long, the pair began a sexual relationship.

Epuna, now 32, sent the young boy pornographic videos and detailed what she wanted him to do to her in text messages.

At Hull Crown Court, Epuna, of Maye Grove, Sculcoates Lane, Hull, admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a child, attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

The court heard that, one one occasion, Epuna's daughter was present at her home when she and the victim had sex.

The two had sex seven times in total, the court also heard.

Stephen Robinson, prosecuting, told the court that, in August 2019, Epuna began speaking with the victim on social media. She told him that she was 29 and he lied, telling her that he was 17.

After inviting the victim to her house, Epuna asked him if he was a virgin and, when he confirmed that he was, she asked him to smoke weed with her, HullLive reports.

Mr Robinson said that Epuna hugged and kissed the victim and asked him to touch her, she then took him upstairs into the bedroom and they had sex.

The court heard that the victim did eventually tell Epuna his real age, but that did not stop the relationship.

Mr Robinson said: "The second time they met, he admitted to her that he was 15, but that did not deter her."

Text messages between the pair show that the victim told Epuna he "loved her" and Epuna told him that they must "hide" until he is of age.

In one text message, she said: "If we love each other we must hide until you are 16 or 17.

"If people know I am with you, prison."

At the time of the relationship, the victim's grandmother was in hospital and he had told her about his contact with Epuna.

His grandmother said that she would "sort it out" and speak with Epuna when she was discharged from hospital but, sadly, she died in hospital.

The court heard that the victim had even asked Epuna to have her copper coil contraception removed so that he could get her pregnant and Epuna told him that she had made an appointment.

However, she later told him that she "did not want him to be a father at 15", the court heard.

In further text conversations, the two discussed sex positions and Epuna sent him pornographic images detailing what they were.

The two ended communication in September, 2019 when the victim said he "could not take it anymore and did not want to get her into s**t". The defendant replied that she was heartbroken.

In a statement read in court, the victim said: "I feel embarrassed by what happened. She was a lot older than me and I feel she tricked me.

"I was only 15 and inexperienced, I was also curious and naive as many boys are my age.

"My grandmother was unwell and she was aware of that. I feel she took advantage of me. I just went along with it."

David Godfrey, mitigating, said Epuna feels great shame because of what has happened and her daughter has been removed from her care as a result.

He said that Epuna was a socially removed woman who was lonely when this happened and felt flattered, but knows that what she was doing was wrong.

Jugde David Tremberg said to Epuna: "It became clear the victim was only 15. You said if people found out you could go to prison, you went into it with your eyes wide open.
