'Our Hearts Are Broken': Search Continues For Missing 3-Year-Old Days After His Mother Was Found Stabbed To Death

Cincinnati Police are still searching for a missing 3-year-old boy, days after his mother was found stabbed to death near a bridge and her boyfriend was taken into custody.

Police have arrested 20-year-old Desean Brown for murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 29-year-old Nyteisha Lattimore, after her body was discovered around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday near the Purple People Bridge, according to a statement from police.

Police allege Brown “stabbed Lattimore multiple times with an unknown edged weapon,” in a Cincinnati apartment sometime around Dec. 11, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Oxygen.com.

However, Lattimore’s 3-year-old son Nylo remains missing.

Cincinnati Police Lt. Steve Saunders told Oxygen.com that authorities were able to locate a stroller that Lattimore’s family said belonged to the slain mother.

“The stroller was located in the area of where Nyteisha’s body was located,” Saunders said. “We utilized our Hamilton County Police Association Dive Team to search the river bank in the immediate and surrounding area.”

Police also searched the property and area where Nyteisha and Nylo had lived together—but as of Tuesday, Saunders said there has been no sign of the missing child.

A missing person report obtained by Oxygen.com for the 3-year-old indicates that authorities believe he disappeared sometime between Dec. 4 and Dec. 12 under “suspicious circumstances.”

Nyteisha’s sister Monique Ross described her slain sister to the The Cincinnati Enquirer as a dedicated mother who never went anywhere without her son.

“My sister was a sweet and quiet girl,” she said. “Our hearts are broken. (We) hope they find Nylo safe, so we can bring him home.”

Police have described the 3-year-old as having black hair and brown eyes.

Brown was previously convicted of assault in January and was given five years of probation, according to Montgomery County court records obtained by local station WLWT. He also had past charges in Hamilton County for obstructing official business and falsification.

Brown appeared in court on Monday, where his bond was set at $1 million.
