Granddaughter of 'Charles Manson family' victim is stabbed to death in pool of blood

The grandchild of a victim of the Manson "family" has been brutally killed, police have said.

Ariana Wolk was stabbed and left in a "pool of blood" in an apartment in Denver, Colorado .

The 40-year-old was found dead on July 3 this year, Denver District Attorney's office said.

Jose Sandoval-Romero, 24, has been charged with her murder.

A post-mortem found Ariana had "several stab wounds to her neck and apparent defensive stab wounds to her arms and hands."

According to the District Attorney's office the suspect confessed to police when he was arrested four days after Ariana's body was found.

He admitted stabbing her, fleeing the scene and then discarding her clothes, the DA's office said.

Ariana's mother Suzan LaBerge was the daughter of Rosemary LaBianca, who was killed on August 8, 1969 by the Manson "family".

The night before her death Tex Watson, Susan Atkins and Patricia Krenwinkel had been led by Charles Manson to kill Sharon Tate, who was 8½ months pregnant, along with three friends and an 18-year-old visitor.

Dissatisfied with how panicked the murder victims were, a day later Manson took his followers to the home of wealthy grocer Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary.

The cult-leader tied up the couple and left the others to kill them.

The pair were brutally murdered and Leno had the word 'war' carved into his abdomen.

Following Ariana's death her sister Rommi has set up a Go Fund Me page for her.

"She was a very happy, sweet, kind loving child and gifted her family with many fond memories," Rommi wrote.

She added: "She loved the county fair, festivals and the river, mountains and forest.

"Ariana was a single Mom with one son who was the joy of her life."

Rommi is raising money in order to bring her sister to California to be buried.
