Two doctors on the coronavirus front line got engaged - dressed in full hazmat suits.
The video captured the moment surgeon Igor Anokhin, 26, popped the question to anaesthetist Ekaterina Vnukova, 24, in the hospital where they work battling coronavirus at Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital in Siberia.
Other medics - all also wearing full hazmat suits - cheered as she said yes, eight months after the pair first met treating intensive care patients.
Igor said: “When I decided to propose, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. But I was terribly worried.
“We met at the hospital at the end of April and at first just talked.
“Getting to know each other better, we understood we had been looking for each other all our lives," he continued.
“And we became a couple.”
The happy moment came as a joyful interlude in a tough winter in the region, which has been hit hard by Covid-19 infections.
The area - the second largest geographically in Russia - is in the top dozen for virus infections.
Latest figures from analysts Worldometer reveal that across the country there have been 3,308,601 positive cases of the virus as well as 59,951 recorded deaths.
In a statement on Tuesday the Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss the response to the pandemic.
The statement read: "The two leaders wished each other Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
"They discussed cooperation in tackling the coronavirus pandemic, with an emphasis on opportunities for cooperation in joint vaccine production, and agreed on further contacts between the two countries’ healthcare ministries and other relevant departments in this regard."Follow the Official Rokna NEWS Telegram Channel For More and fresh NEWS.
